Good morning! We're going to steam clean our carpets this morning, yeehaw!! I just hope they look a lot better afterwards. We really need NEW carpet but that's not in the budget right now.

Travis has hockey tonight. This is the start of the summer league. I guess they'll be playing 3 on 3, which I have mixed feelings about. It means a lot more ice time for him, but it can also be kind of lame. We'll see.

He was wanting to have a friend over to spend the night, but not sure if that will happen or not. He called 3 friends last night; one was camping and he couldn't reach the other two.

We watched Hotel for Dogs last night. Pretty cute movie. :-) Have a great weekend!

Today we have a baptism to go to for a good friend of mine. The little boy I babysat before I went on vacation, he's now crawling all over the place! I cannot remember the last time I went to a baptism especially since I'm not a member of any Christian church and am not Christian...hope I don't get struck by lightening when I walk into the Catholic church (I was raised Catholic but don't believe anymore, am now Pagan)!! lol

DH has tickets for Harry Potter this afternoon and Paige will be staying at Grandma's. DH has a cousin coming into town so we're supposed to go over to his parents house for dinner. My MIL is cooking, should be interesting. lol

I'm almost finished with the HUGE afghan I'm making for my cousin's wedding. She's getting married Aug 1 so I'll be done just in time. :)

Tomorrow I head up to San Antonio to spend the night at my SIL's and then I have a follow up appointment with my DR on Monday.

And now my computer is acting like it's been hacked so I best get going and figure out what the heck is going on!

Yesterday we went for a drive to check out how Mitchell's new school is progressing - the answer is really quickly! It's going to look great :) Then we popped in to pick up a couple of things at the shops.

In the afternoon / evening I went to a friend's birthday party and she had 2 psychics there doing readings. I decided to throw caution to the wind and give it a go, suffice to say I am less sceptical than I was - she had myself, Michael and Mitchell completely nailed in absolutely every single possible respect which was a little freaky but also strangely comforting with some of the things she said. And aside from that I had a totally wonderful time hanging out and chatting with a bunch of awesome ladies, some who were already friends and others I met last night :)

Today I will be going to the supermarket to buy the groceries for the week and then cleaning and tidying the house and after being completely invigorated last night I am actually quite motivated for housework, which feels totally bizarre I must say :)

Oh and Mitchell was so sweet and lovely this morning, said he missed me last night and we had a nice chat about all sorts of things including vampires, religion and veganism - all initiated by him, funny boy :) He's really quite like talking to another adult some times - then of course other times he does remind me that he is only 6 :)

I hope the hockey went well. Man I miss it, I'll have to find the NHL channel and see what replays they have ;-) What I really miss is the smell of the ice rink...yep I'm weird but I just loved the smell of the ice. I could totally relate to the scene in the movie The Cutting Edge when he talked about loving the smell of the ice....sigh.

I swear this year I WILL go to San Antonio or Laredo to catch some minor league hockey! Better yet I'll go skating!

Sounds like a fun day. I have a friend, ok ex employee, who does card readings with a lot of accuracy. I haven't done one in a long time, maybe I should and see if our business will get out of this funk soon. lol

You know, one of the things I love about having an only is the awesome conversations we have. Paige can hold a discussion very well and has for quite a few years. I think that's a big bonus of being an only child, they know how to talk and express themselves better to adults. Maybe I'm just biased ;-) Interesting topic range, what brought on vampires and religion? lol Sounds like something I'd have with Paige after listening to the Twilight books in the vehicle while we're driving.

Honestly I have no idea - it just really came out of nowhere. I love that we have time to just sit and chat :)

It went okay. Travis isn't crazy about 3 on 3, but it gets him a LOT of skating time. He was completely out of gas by the end of the second period, LOL. Too much bike riding and swimming with his friend beforehand!

We had AHL hockey here last year (a Calgary Flames affiliate) but they left so next year it's back to the IHL for us. I think the level of play is going to look pretty lame compared to the AHL, but at least we'll have something. For a while there it was looking like we might not get a team of any kind. There are two Michgan teams in the league, the Flint Generals and the Muskegon Lumberjacks. :-) We have a pretty good junior team here too and they actually pack the house for their games so that's kind of fun.

I think Travis will play up a level and do the Pee Wee house league, and then hopefully we can get him into a Squirt select (part-time travel) team as well. There is a lot of drama going around our rink now so things are kind of up in the air. One of the coaches really ticked a bunch of parents off last year by only playing his favorites (and his own son of course) and letting everyone else warm the bench. A lot of people didn't even sign their kids up again so the board is now calling people individually and trying to smooth things over, get feedback, etc. We got our call today...we didn't have that coach (he's a former hockey player that played here some years ago and thinks he's really something) so I didn't have any complaints about that but did have some other feedback to offer.

Anywhoo!! Probably more hockey talk than you wanted, LOL. ;-)

Wow, motivated for housework. I can't quite imagine what that must feel like! LOL

I loved hearing about your convo with Mitchell. I love just sitting and talking with Travis like that too. I do think that Onlies tend to be exceptional conversationalists. My mom is always telling me what good company Travis is and how they just sit and chat like that forever. Love that! :-)

My carpet looks soooo good after being steam cleaned yesterday! It has me itching to change more things up now. Okay, basically everything, LOL! I want new furniture, new curtains, new paint, new stuff for the walls, etc. I probably won't get any of it anytime soon, but I can still wish!

Travis had a friend spend the afternoon on Saturday and then sleep over. They rode their bikes all afternoon and then even swam for a while despite it being way too cold! They didn't stay up *too* late so that was good.

Need to get Travis into bed soon so dh and I can watch "Knowing". We started it last night but both conked out about 15 minutes into it. :-)
