That is according to Philip. Yesterday his class had a Read-In. They got to bring their pillows and blankets and tons of books. They spent the day hanging out under desks (they stacked the chairs outside the class in the walk way) with blankets on top to make "caves" just reading and talking about books. There was food and drinks so they snacked and read. I checked in a couple of times to see if they needed more water and how the snacks were holding up and everyone was just so happy and enjoying themselves. They had a lot of fruit and even two vegetable trays that the kids finished. That was nice to see that they were not ignoring the healthy snacks to eat just the homemade cookies or brownies.
This was the class's "prize" for everyone meeting their AR goals for the grading period, which ended Tuesday. They voted and every single kid (28) wanted the read in. Because of this I bet a few kids are already on their way to meeting their goals for the current grading period.

What a cool idea!!! Kudos to this creative teacher. I think I'll print off your post and share it with O's teacher. I think she might love the idea. TFS!!!
