hello!! as hard as its going to be-youre going to have to let her go. i know how you feel-im really crazy about my kids and cars...i know how quickly things can go from fine to un-fine. i worry when my hubby is going on a road trip by himself(he went to pick up his bro 2 weeks ago-its a 2 1/2 hour trip and i was at work. i was on pins and needles until i was able to go on break and call him.)...to be honest, i get a lil nervous every day when he leaves for work. last year i let my bff take my kids and they all went camping over july 4th. i was a wreck at first-i waited about 4 hours and then called them-lol. after that intial call, i was much better cuz i knew they were at the place and were safe and sound...
What exactly were you worried about? The fear of accidents, the fear of how your friend drives, or was it a combination?
It is hard to let your kids go off on their own the first few times. I'm not sure how my parents handled it because I am reluctant to let my son(a 4th grader) even walk to school by himself and we live 3 minutes walking from it. I was walking to Kindergarten by myself and was walking my brother home from kindergarten when I was in the 3rd grade and we lived over a mile away at the time. Dh was taking public transportation on his own to kindergarten and the thought of our 10 year old walking two blocks over to a friends house has him nervous.
I am not sure how I would feel about my son or daughter going off on a trip with someone. In theory I am fine with it but I don't know if I could do it.

Is your concern that they might get in an accident or that they don't practice adequate car safety (seat belts, boosters, etc)?
I understand the car seat safety one perfectly. I'm
