How's the Weekend Going?

I hope everyone is having a nice relaxing weekend. Any thing fun planned?

I am getting ready to head off to a CPR class in a bit. Dh will be on kid duty all morning so when I get back I'll probably take pity on him and take the kids to the park.

Later and on Sunday my son needs to finish up his last book report and speech that is due on Monday. It is almost completed which is nice. He has some editing to do on the report and then he has to finish the poster that is part of his speech. They have to "sell" the book in this speech. Thankfully none of it has to be drawn. It can all be clip art, cut outs from magazines, etc and the title, author, illustration, and publisher can all be typed, printing, cut out and glued on the poster board. He told everyone to not try to make it straight but go for the bubble, cloud or wavy look on the titles because then it won't matter if it isn't perfectly lined up. I am so glad because this poster would have ended up being a huge fight with ds who would insist it had to be perfect.

He got the report and poster done. Yeah! He even knows what he wants to say in his speech, he just needs to practice it a few times.

We have 8 more days till school is out, not counting the weekends. I'm getting excited for the kids. Tuesday or Wednesday (Philip can't remember) is their visiting author day. They will do nothing but read and listen to stories that day. Though I might break that rule by pulling a couple of kids out who are close to finishing up their time tests. Their last day for those is this coming Wednesday.

Gillian has been camping with her Scout troop since Friday night and is at home now recovering from all the fun they had. While she was camping, I got my hair colored and went to see the new Indiana Jones movie, so today I have to do all the chores I didn't do yesterday, plus laundry. It's amazing how two days of camping can generate an entire washer load of dirty clothes!

The highlight of my weekend was that Dh grilled both nights so I didn't have to cook, woo hoo!

I hear you on the laundry. It's one of the reason I've not pushed the camping idea when dh brings it up.

What color did you get your hair done? And how did you like the movie?
