Need ideas!!! Birthday Party...

My twins are turning 10 on June 24th and have decided to have their party at home. They want a Hannah Montana theme, which is fine...But now I'm wondering about gift ideas...They both pretty much like the same things...they already have phones, cd players, etc...I'm thinking some kind of jewelry, clothes, maybe a book, but I need an idea for a "big" gift...

Also party games...I'm thinking maybe karaoke, making earrings, and doing their nails, but the only thing is there are going to be boys at this party...This is the first year they've invited boys...Any ideas?

thanks a bunch!!

Lollybeth, I think the girls need to decide whether they are having a Hannah Montana party, or a party where they are inviting girl friends and boy friends.

I told them the same thing about the HM/Boy thing...One of their friends did a HM theme and invited boys but it was a skating party, so it was fun for everyone anyway. I'm going to pitch an American Idol party idea at them and see if they'll go for it. They want to do karaoke and the boys wouldn't be left out. I could make CDs and give out ribbons for favors...Hmmm, I'm gonna go think on this a bit and see what I can come up with.

Thanks for your input! I appreciate it.

Since its boys and girls at the party I think the American Idol theme would work better.

I'm trying to think of what works well with the boys in Philip's class. Picture frames, door hangers, book markers. Decorating cookies.

Laura, I love those ideas. I'm filing them away. Some of those would even be fun for a long play date when Philip has a couple of friends over.

LOL - yes I use some of these all the time:

especially the scavenger hunt - I give a list of like 25 things to find around the neighborhood and send the girls and their friend to go find them. Things like red door, green house, black van, flag other than American, yellow flower, basketball, small dog, large dog, stuff like that. They love it!

Also shrinky dinks and webkinz collars (with beads) seem to be done just about any time someone is over :o)

See, I love it. You gave me a bunch of easy to do things I can set up for the kids. They will have a blast and I'll be thanking you again.

hello!! i was going to suggest a game we played at a baby shower i went to: everyone gets in a big circle and you roll a dice. if you roll a 6, you get to pick a present from a lil box of presents. (theyre all wrapped so you cant see what it is)pass the dice to the next person-if they roll a 6, they can either pick a present from the box or take yours. the game lasts about 15 minutes-at the end, you get to open your presents. you could have enough for everyone to get a present, if you wanted so no one feels slihghted. i would buy things like candy, markers/colored pencils, bubbles, outside toys from the dollar store, just general toys from the dollar store, those rubber bracelets that are unisex, maybe even a t shirt or 2-plain or with a sports logo on it(buy it large or x-large). my dd has always had at least 1 boy buddy at her parties-last year we did it here, with a pinata and a candy scramble. this year, we're going to ceasarland-which is like chuck e. cheeses, but with a little ceasar theme. that way theres a playscape, video games and "prizes" to keep everyone happy. plus i dont have to cook or clean-works out nicely. lol. take care!!
