Hi, everyone.
I work for the Institute for Women in Trades, Technology and Science (IWITTS) and we're trying to find more resources to get girls into science and technology early on (since it's been proven that an increased confidence in science and tech as kids leads to an increased chance of girls pursuing science and tech careers in the future). So far, we've found these great resources like SciGirls (Science DVDs with role models and activities
Good Morning,
I have one of those girls you are trying to reach and thankfully we've found another down the road.
Hello, Marla. Thanks for the reply! That's wonderful that you are actively engaged in science activities with your daughter outside of school, as we have found that informal science and tech education outside of the classroom is what gives girls the confidence to pursue these kinds of careers in the classroom and beyond.
If you'd like to be added to our mailing list, please visit http://www.iwitts.com/html/mailinglist.html. We don't offer a mailing list for parents yet, so I would suggest WomenTech Educators as we post information for teachers that often applies to parents as well (for instance, the off-the-shelf products that I mentioned in my original post).
Thanks, again!
Best,
Sophia
