I posted something about my daughter taking showers by herself, well we are still struggling with this issue.

Hi Sue,

It sounds like you want to get a lot accomplished with your daughter, so I'd suggest prioritizing and working on one thing at a time.

Some good points there that you made...I believe that if I was to do all this parenting by myself, yes my girls might be a little more independent, but DH was brought up with his mama getting everything for him, so he's always like "Mommy will get it for you", and if I don't he makes me feel like a bad mom.

My mom hated us climbing on the counters to get stuff down.

Thanks, I am trying hard to get them to be more independent.

Sue, what I do with Philip and will start with Lindsay once she starts getting her homework in K is that there is no tv or ds or computer time until all your homework for that day is done.

Well, as embarrassing as this is, I hate to admit this but I am one of those "slave wives", the kind who has to basically wait on her husband hand and foot.

We have a step stool. I'm pretty short and can't reach a lot of things on upper shelves without a stool either.
