Yessss... you definitely have my empathy! It doesn't help that he's picking up these lovely little habits from his big brother too, sigh.
I read once that the reason kids behave so well at school but then fall apart when they get home is because by the end of the day, they've run out of steam and arrive hom "frazzled and fatigued" (which leads to misbehaving). They feel "safer" acting out at home, knowing you love them unconditionally.
Personally, I think they also know which buttons to push at home which makes things worse too!!
Yes, it's gotten really bad with my DD. I am trying to concentrate on praising her when she does speak respectfully since the negative consequences don't seem to be doing much good. But it's hard b/c the moments when she isn't "back talking" or using a sarcastic tone are few and far between lately!
