I had Riley's meeting last week, and I'm very happy to report that he is doing great in school!  Scored 'average' on letters and 'above average' on numbers.  His writing is getting better and so is his coloring!  I'm one happy mama!

How are yours doing in school?

1st quarter grades close today but report cards come out right before Thanksgiving and parent night will be week after. I'm not sure where he stands right now, we haven't been getting tests home but I haven't gotten any calls or requests for meetings so taking no news as good news...

We had ours back on Columbus day.  I am in constant communication via email with Emma's teacher because of ongoing discipline issues and adapting to kindergarten.  So not much was new to me come conference time, except we went over her test results on the basics, numbers, letters, etc.  Good news is that academically, she follows directions and listen wells to the teacher, can finish assignments without extra instruction, etc. and she said to go ahead and have her tested for GT (which I dont' know that I will do or not), its just the non-academic stuff she is struggling with, socializing, acting out in the hallways, lunch room, etc.  She seems to be settling in a bit more now, but its taken a lot of effort and rewards from the teacher and I and working together.

LOL!  I do that for my teenager, who has never had below an 85 in her life.  Her report card came in the mail yesterday and my DH opened it and said "gasp, what is this D for??" and I just shrugged him off knowing that he was fooling around because I check on grades every few weeks, and ODD always tells me when she's had a bad test or whatever.  Online grades are such a good and bad thing!!
