When do your kiddos go to bed each night?

So, Jacob is 10 and Cooper is 8 and they have had a bedtime of 8pm the last few school years. They head up to bed at 8 but they usually talk until 9ish. They get up so early for school that I'm afraid to move it too far back but I'm thinking maybe 8:30 would work. I get up early too so part of their bedtime is purely selfish--- I love having my *me* time at night!

It gets dark soooo late during the summer months! My older boys tend to stay up quite a bit later during the summer for that reason alone and my hubby was just saying that we should probably invest in some blackout shades or curtains.

I can relate to being up with the sun- my younger two are that way! Jacob, my oldest, has just started sleeping in really late (like until 10 or 11) so I imagine it is going to be a struggle to get him out of bed when school starts up again!

Kolby is that way.. he'll sleep in until 10 or 11, then get upset because he missed breakfast!

Haha! Yep, Jacob is the same way. He'll get up at 11 and ask what we are having for breakfast. Ummm... yeah... breakfast was like 3 hours ago buddy!

My boys loved to sleep in our room until they were about 5. I finally had to put my foot down around that time with Landon was born. It was too much to have an infant and two bigger kiddos in bed with mom and dad! LOL!

No kids here so I can only go by what my sil did ( and by what my parents did back in the " dark ages" of the '50's! Really a world apart! When my brother and I were kids, it was 7 PM when I was 8 and then we managed to beg an extra 15 minutes a night each year ( that was the time when evening news was only 15 minutes!) until we reached a HS benchmark of 10 PM on school nights... My niece, on the other hand, from the age of 11, seemed to ave NO bedtime enforced and getting HER up in the morning was a real chore...
