Clothing Pickiness

I saw this topic on another board and thought it would be good for here too. Is your child picky with their clothing? Are certain things "uncomfortable" to them or are they okay with pretty much whatever they wear? Do they pick out their own clothing choices each day or do you still lay things out for them?
I have two boys and they couldn't be more different in regards to clothing pickiness. My youngest son (9) is in the "okay with whatever" category. My oldest son (13) is VERY picky about clothes and has been for as long as I can remember! He hates buttons and the school uniform is a polo-style shirt. I thought maybe having to wear a shirt with buttons so often would get him more used to it but nope, he still hates them. The shirt is off within seconds when he gets home from school.
He also doesn't like jeans b/c he says they are uncomfortable. He doesn't really care for pants at all, really- if he had his way he'd wear shorts year-round. We also just went through about 4-5 brands of socks before he found some that were "comfortable" to him. Ugh!!

I'm sure it's not funny to you but I couldn't help but giggle at " throws a tantrum if it's not a dress". I see SO many cute dresses in the stores nowdays, makes me wish I had a girl....sometimes.

My oldest always had pretty sensitive skin, so no wool sweaters, nothing with prickly glitter, no turtlenecks, etc. My middle one is pretty laid back, she'll wear just about anything and I lay out her outfits for her most days still and she just puts it on without complaint. She did get an outfit for christmas she complains is itchy in the sleeves, it has glittery fabric, so we layered a turtleneck under it and she was fine. Now my youngest one, if its not a dress, she's throws a temper tantrum, which sucks for handme down purposes since the middle one doesn't wear many dresses. I can get the little one to wear pants occassionally, but not often, and even getting her to wear leggins under dresses is a chore most days.
