Sure, you scan the school’s email notices about strep and the out-sick policy, but if you're like most of us, you completely gloss over anything related to lice, on ick factor alone. And the only thing worse than learning that a child in your kid's class is affected, is learning that -- Omigod -- your child is the one with bugs in her hair. Don't panic -- here's everything you need to know.

LICE?!? EEK!!!

We actually had to deal with this for the first time last year and I'll tell you that I did panic! I never thought that my kid would be the one with lice, but yep, both of my older boys had it! Cooper was scratching his head one day and I took a look. Didn't see anything so I didn't think much of it. The next day I was combing his hair before school and I saw a bug. Checked my older boy and he had a bug too. It was awful, but we lived. We did several doses of shampoo, cut their hair very short, and washed everything in the house. Thankfully they were the only two to get it and I'm pretty sure we caught it early. I won't lie, it stinks, but I was totally unprepared to deal with it and didn't know a single thing about how to deal with it. I just never thought my kids wold be the ones to get it! This info would have been super helpful back then!

I went through it, too, with Tyler and Kristen.

Oh my gosh! I can't even imagine dealing with lice and long hair. The nits are the worst! It takes forever to search for them and comb them out and I'm guessing it must feel like an endless task with such long hair.

I don't know about the lice ladies. If you would have asked me before dealing with lice, I would have said no way. However, I hated dealing with it when my boys had it. It took so much time and I felt like I needed to take a bath in bleach after I was done searching their heads each time. If I had the extra $$, I'd pay someone to do it for sure!

Hahaha! No, I have not seen that but it is SO true! When my boys had lice, I made my DH check my head every single night. My head itched so bad that I could have sworn I had lice too. Nope- I'm just crazy. ;)

It's so weird how it makes you feel that way. But, I did the same thing!
