At his public school, Little Village Academy on Chicago's West Side, students are not allowed to pack lunches from home. Unless they have a medical excuse, they must eat the food served in the cafeteria.

Principal Elsa Carmona said her intention is to protect students from their own unhealthful food choices.,0,2614451,full.story

Well my kids would hate this policy! They are quite picky eaters and they'd be going hungry every day. I wonder how they enforce this? How do you MAKE someone buy something they don't want to buy? I bet they have a lot of kids that don't pay.

I just saw this on the news and couldn't believe it! I think it is going to far, honestly. There are many kids who are picky eaters, and will not eat the school's food. I was one. I hope they rethink it.
