hi... my ds is in gr 2, a split class,(gr1-2) the other choice was a 2-3 split...
last year he was in k-1 split, which was great, when the k's weren't there, it was only 10 kids in gr1.

Now I'm not sure which is better... the high side of a split or the low side?
ds just turned 7,most of his friends are in the other class, and he's a little bummed about that... doesn't want to be with the "babies"(gr.1's), I was thinging of asking for a change, but some of his so called "friends" are BAD!!! and I would prefer ds not be around them. He has an wonderfull teacher this year, and this way he'll get a really good grasp of things(had an awful/nasty/lazy teacher last year).

just wonder if any of you had any experience with split classes, and how they effect kids later on.. in the higher grades????do they have a tendancy to be behind, or on par...
or ahead...

My GSer now has never been in a split class, however my 2 older girls were in split classes during grade school.

My dd is a kindie in a K/1 split class. she loves it because shes not having to relearn things she already knows ie: letters, writing etc. she enjoys reading, math, spelling etc.
