And whoa, Nelly, 6:30 is early in the morning!  We're not used to getting up on a schedule.  It'll be interesting to see how the boys are later this afternoon.

What time do you get up for school?

I tried the school evening routine last night, so didn't work, in fact the kids were in bed when they were supposed to be, but didn't finally fall to sleep til almost 10:30!! Ugh this is going to be a long week!!

Emma will actually get to sleep in once school starts. I need to be up and out of the house to drop the little one off at daycare at 6:15-6:20. Instead of getting up at 5:45, Emma will now get to sleep in til around 6:30 to catch the bus at 7:11.

I get up at 5am (do some work, shower, etc) but don't wake up the boys until about 6:15. That gives them time to eat, shower, and get ready to be out the door by 7:15. We've only been doing it for two days now but it seems to work pretty well. The boys might disagree, though. Jacob was dragging this morning! He didn't want to get up!

Yeah, we didn't get very far last night either. I was surprised when they actually got up this morning.

I agree that once school actually starts, they will be tired and fall right to sleep. Wow! Up and out the door by 6:20. I would cry. lol

I should be up at 5 every day to actually get showered, eat and do the stuff I need to do before getting the kids up, but darned if I can ever actually do it! Good for you for doing it, and like Dana, I am curious what time you get to bed at night?

Ds12 leaves the house around 7:30-7:35 (although several days a week he has activities that require him to be at school by 6:50am). Luckily, this isn't a problem, as he is usually up by 6am naturally.

Ds10 will be the bigger problem, as he has always had sleep troubles. We have the same bedtime for them year-round  (8:30) but he has trouble falling asleep. He gets up naturally around 7:30-8:00 and he needs to leave the house by 8:20 or so.

I'll admit, I've been sleeping in a bit - Dh leaves around 5:15, and I've been getting up 7 or 7:15 (I have trouble sleeping as well). Dd21 is actually putting on the coffee most mornings! :smileywink: I will change to setting my alarm for 6:30 on regular mornings, 5:45 on ds12's early mornings. School starts tomorrow!!

I must admit that I usually don't get enough sleep. :smileywink: I'm such a night person- I love having the house quiet and having some *me* time. (kids and hubby go to bed at 8). Having said that, I stay up way too late! I usually get to bed between 10 and 11. However, this week has killed me! I've been in bed by 9:30 every night so far. That means I'm getting 7-7.5 hours of sleep each night. Not too shabby!
