Teacher's End of the Year/Thank you gift

I'm class mom for my son AJ's class. In trying to come up with something creative and personal as a teacher gift I really was clueless. I decided to have the kids in the class donate $3 (or more) each to go towards a gift for the teacher. My intent was to get a Visa Gift Card but there is no where here that I can actually walk into and purchase it. Unfortunately I do not have time to order one and have it hear by Thursday (which is when we will have our end of year class party). Would it be extremely tacky to enclose all donated money in an envelope and secure that to a dozen of Roses (her faves). So far we have $50, so I thought I'd change all the money for a $50 bill. Let me know what you think. I have to do this by Thursday. Thanks.

I am a little late posting but for others -- a gift card from Staples or OfficeMax or Office Depot are great also.

Thank you for your suggestions. I did go with a gift card but to Target as "we" (parents) wanted the teacher to be able to get something for herself and I know she loves Target :0). I also purchased 2 dozen long stemmed roses and she was just so happy. The gifts were a big hit.
