I have let my kids walk to school for years. Especially now, that we only live less than a mile from the school. But now, it turns out,it can actually reduce their stress and keep them from getting nervous. Wow!

We used to walk sometimes from our old school, but since transferring to the school my kids now attend we don't walk.

I agree! The exercise really helps them wind down.

No, they sure don't get enough. In Texas schools, they can count 30 minutes of recess as PE. So, when my older ones were in elementary school, they didn't have PE at all. Then, they wonder why kids are not in shape.

Does yours ride the bus?

I know! It drove me crazy. Yet in that area, there is a high prevalence of ADD. Hmmm could it be that they are not getting to run off their energy? Drives me crazy.

Where we live, they don't offer bus service to the kids that live in town either, but luckily we live just a few blocks from school.
