Went to the Schools

I took the boys to their schools yesterday.  I got them registered and Kolby got to tour his school.  He is SO excited!  In 4th grade, they will change classes and have a different teacher for each subject, and he gets a locker "not a cubby". His words, not mine. LOL!  My little boy is growing up!  The school has a meet the teacher on the 21st, so that should be fun.

As for Riley, they were making out the class roster yesterday, so I guess we'll get his teacher assignment in the mail with the rest of the students.  He's more excited about getting to ride the school bus than actually going to school! :smileyvery-happy:

Thanks, Tracy! It actually was a pretty good day. We went up Thursday and spent the night and got up early on Friday to go shopping. And I didn't know they had built a new sub-courthouse so I went in and was the only one there!

Good luck!! Oor tax free weekend is this weekend, I purposely avoided it, its bad enough trying to take a 3 and 5 year old shopping, add a mess of people trying to save 8.25% and its a recipe for disaster!! Ugh on the birth certificate, hate when that happens!

Riley is getting increasingly excited as well. We planned a school-supplies shopping trip for this Friday...ugh...that was BEFORE we knew it was tax-free weekend. I usually avoid that mad-scene at all costs. lol. Hopefully, since it's Friday, many ppl will be at work. :fingerscrossed: And, I get to stand in line for Riley's birth certificate. I'm such a procrastinator. lol.

LOL! That's a rough one. Emma hasn't really said why she doesn't want to ride, probably more of the fear of the unknown. She will only be on it for maybe 10 minutes tops, we are at the very end of the bus route for pick up. DH will be taking her the first day of school, and he said he would take her every day to school, but with his business and everything, I don't want him setting a precedent of taking her for a while and then have to stop and go through this all over again.

We went out yesterday and got some clothes, her backpack and lunch box and supplies and she seemed much more excited about going to school, so hopefully that continues since she still has 2 weeks til she starts.

Riley has already changed his mind twice about riding the bus! I guess I'll take him the first day and see how it goes. His last reasoning...."I want you to take me to school, momma because I'll miss you too much!" :'(

Great that they got to tour the school!

Emma is still anxious about riding the bus to school this year for Kindergarten, we'll see how things go. We have meet the teacher and take a tour of the school on the 23rd. And the little one is moving classes at daycare once the bigger ones leave to start kindergarten, so she is splitting time between her old class and new class right now.

It's weird because in this school district 4th grade is considered middle school. This gave me a high level of anxiety when I learned it because I was hoping the boys would be in the same school for Riley's first year.

But, each class has their own hall, so the only time they leave their assigned hall would be for lunch, gym, and music. Now, today, Kolby is starting to get nervous. We are going to practice cursive writing more this afternoon. He's so funny. He definitely comes by the nervous nelly honestly. lol!

How cool that they change classes in 4th grade! I'm sure that will get them all ready for middle school. I like that idea.

The bus is so much fun for kiddos in kindy! My boys loved riding the bus at that age. Now they hate it and beg me to drive them. LOL!

Sounds like the school visits went well. Let us know how it goes at the meet the teacher night (and how you like all the teachers!).
