This seems so silly, really, but several months ago DD was withdrawn and morose for an extended period. When I finally got her to open up, she confessed that she didn't like it when her father & I shut our door. Well, we only shut the door for sex and she

BTDT, on a weekend visit to my newlyweds, they seriously thought I was sleeping, coz I was supposed to be sleeping on the couch and fell asleep as we were all watching a movie - longest however-many-minutes of my LIFE - even with the pillow over my head

FWIW, we have always been very careful to wait until the kids have gone to their rooms for the night - and we have no venting problems.

I am the oldest of 5 kids....so my parents were always affectionate with each other...as well as probably having a lot of sex (figured that out when I was older).

And, how would you know?

Maybe they're actually getting to enjoy some more alone time, since you're a little older and actually getting out of the home a bit more? Who knows how loud they get when you're out and gone?

Yeah, been there, heard that. I told both of them that sex wasn't invented by their generation and how did they think they got there anyway? :-p

Because they don't. How dare you ask me if I would know!

They don't, because they are getting older and they are not in love with one another any more. Of course they still love each other, but how dare you ask.

"Getting older" doesn't necessarily equal "no sex." Neither does growing from "being in love" to "loving intensely." One of my very good friends is 59, just sent her last baby off into the world, and she tells me that "life is good!" when it comes to her love life. So don't be too hard on lemonewton... one can never be certain what goes on in somebody else's bedroom.

Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. I have some pretty solid proof. To wit:

My bedroom shares a wall with my parents'. If they can hear what I'm doing, I can hear what they're doing.

My mother has sleep apnoea, so she snores. Loudly.

My mother smokes and has done for years. She is quite overweight, and I'm not sure how her having sex could actually be healthy.

We do not close doors in our house. Only recently have I begun closing my door to block out the sound of my mother's snoring.

My parents do not close their door unless I am having a friend over to spend the night.
In addition, I rarely go out without my mother because she is my best friend, and we like spending time together.

There's three of us in the house. They can't really go anywhere without me knowing about it. It's kind of hard to get lost in our house.

Lastly, my mother has told me that she is not sure that my father still loves her. I'm real sure they're still getting romantic with one another. Just last week, they took me to their anniversary dinner (and I had a terrific schnitzel). I joked to my mother that they had to take me because I reminded them why they were actually still together.

My DH snores so loudly we sleep in separate bedrooms when he's home from his job. I'm overweight and I smoke.

I'd bet a million dollars my son thinks we don't still have sex, lol.

ROFL - my boys probably like to think think we've 'done the deed' only twice to conceive each of them!
