Help - rightly or wrongly I've just been reading through my 16 year old son's phone messages.

I don't think taking the day off from work is the answer--unless you are going to quit your job, you can't supervise him every minute.

Yes I think you need to have a talk with him and let him know what you saw. I'm assuming that at 16 you've already had talks with him about the consequences of teenage sex. Chances are at 16 if they're going to meet to 'show their bits' it's not going to be like 5 year olds playing 'you show me yours and I'll show you mine'. I'm not sure taking off work is the right thing either but do you have friends/relatives/neighbors that can have him over/check in/keep him busy? Or if you work close by and have flexibility you can certainly pop in unexpectedly. Let us know how it goes...

Also, I highly recommend you get John Rosemond book on teenagers.

Great advice fullmom! I was also coming in here to remind them that if she's underage it could also be a whole other problem. Of course, in some states HE'S underage...

I just have to ask-why the garage??? I mean what am I missing? Are there younger sibs inside the home? An awesome Corvette in the garage?

I would lurk around the corner and surprise them tomorrow. If only out of curiosity....

If the girl is young enough to cause issues for him, I would definitely step in bigtime.

I do agree with confronting him about what you read, but FIRST, unless he has a job and bought the cell and is paying for all the service HIMSELF, remind him that anything YOU provide is YOUR property to access as you wish.
