The post below calling all Californians to get out and vote today ignited a little spark.

If you have teens who are 18 and over, are they registered to vote?

If you have teens who aren't 18 yet, but will be very soon (less than a year), will they register to vote when they turn 18?

Sheela will be 18 in three months and yes, she plans on registering to vote as soon as she can.

We are in California and ds20 registered so he would be able to vote in the recall election. He was old enough last fall for the gubanatorial election but didn't bother to register. We even sent him a registration form last year to make it easier but no go. Hopefully he will continue to get informed and vote in every election.

Dd will turn 18 in February. I don't know if she will register right away or not. I think she would have voted last Tues if she had been eligible. Her bf is old enough to vote but doesn't, says that his vote won't make a difference and dd thinks that is a ridiculous attitude. I hope that means that she believes that her vote does count and she will exercise her right.
