Dd had mentioned awhile back that she would like a short red dress for midwinter.

I think what I actually do in this case--and I have the cleavage problem big time (no pun)--matters more than what I preach about what I think is right to do!

DS2's GF always has the cleavage thing going on.

I think it's inappropriate at times and yes, it is affecting my feelings towards her.

It wouldnt bother me for a dance or special occasion but Thanksgiving dinner? Going out with this family for birthday dinners? I think she should be more modest myself

So I'm not against the style-just feel there are times and places and NOT!!!!

My DD is generally relatively modest about showing cleavage - anything that she wears in her day to day life that hints at cleavage is worn with a cute cami underneath to make it more modest.

I have mixed feelings about it. For girls who are rather reserved, I think it's okay. It's when they wear the low cut things and are flirting and falling all over the guys that it's not okay.

Both DSs have gfs who show cleavage, while I never do--cuz I have absolutely none, LOL! (But both of them also have more padding around the middle than I do.) They are both very intelligent, sweet girls and they don't flaunt it. Last year for prom, DS18s gf was really showing it all and when I mentioned it to DS he said that she did have her dress sewn up some so that it was not so low. I think if it looks good--and let's face it, teenage breasts look a whole lot better than our saggy ones--it's okay to show some cleavage. My opinion of dressing well is wearing styles that accentuate your assets, and if for some that's beautiful breasts, there's nothing wrong with showing a little cleavage.

To me, an 8 yo girl who wears makeup is a whole lot worse than a 17 yo who shows cleavage.

The dress would be for a school midwinter dance.
