About driving...AAA question

Hi Mom/Dads: I have a question and I hope it isn't too silly. My dd has had her license for a couple of months and I was wondering about our AAA policy. Does anyone know if we need to add her to the policy, or is having my husband and I on it sufficient? If I give her the membership # would that be enough if she needs roadside help. I feel like if I can AAA they are going to insist on putting her on the membership even if it isn't really necessary.
Told ya it was a silly question :-)

Not really a silly question. At first I loaned my dd my AA card and then when she got her own car, I realized that she would need her own card/membership. I added her. And now that she's away at college and traveling, etc., I can rest assured that she has her own card and membership and knows what to do, etc.
Oh, and if she is in your car and carrying your card, AAA will likely come to her aid. However, the rule is that the card carrying member is supposed to be in the vehicle in order to get the service. Incidentally, you can be in any car, as long as you're the member. So, if you're driving in your friend's car and HER car breaks down, you can use YOUR membership to have her car towed simply because you are in the car. *This is what our local AAA office personnel told me.
Thank you so much for the info. I think I should add her onto the membership. Don't want her to be stuck somewhere without help.
Thanks again.
