My psychiatrist has encouraged me to go to obtain a note from student services that would grant me extra time on exams and extensions on due dates for subsequent semesters. I am currently on Adderal XR (15 mg), and while this is a sufficient dose (for now), he thinks I would

Wow, you are that close to graduating! Congratulations!!

Will you be taking classes this summer? Would it be possible to try the medication over the summer and see if it makes a difference? It might take you a while to get the dosage right and for you to be able to notice a difference so if you are considering this, you probably need to go ahead and get started before fall semester starts anyway.

As an educator, I can tell you that I've certainly noticed a difference in a few of my students by having the special accommodations. I have one lady that is an older, returning student. She has severe anxiety and panic attacks. She is taking my course in order to be able to use her computer in her husband's business. She recently received special testing accommodations (time and 1/2 and a quieter room). Her test grades improved from 15 - 20 range to 65 - 80 range. DD takes medication but gets no special accommodations and her grades have gone from a D's & C's to straight A's. Of course, we've worked very, very hard on teaching her time management and alternative study skills as well.
