How would I find out what my DD's HS's policy is on NCLB and the "opt out"? Who would have that information? Which schools are under this requirement? Ours is a public school, but is run by a college. It makes them unique in a lot of ways (e.g., teacher licensing), I wonder if they're affected by NCLB.

Thanks, Sue

schools that receive federal dollars are required to provide the childs information to military recuriters.

the school is also requred by the same law to make parents aware that they can opt out.

if you do a google search for "opt out" there are numerous sites that will provide you with information you can present to school officials.

when i get a chance i'll post that info here.

If you are concerned about military recruiters contacting your household, please remember that all you have to say is "Put me on your do not call list". As with any telemarketer, they are legally obligated to not call you again..just remember there are several branches of the military, so another phone call may not necessarily be the same people from the same branch of service. You will need to tell each service when they call and eventualy you won't be getting calls anymore.
