Anyone Have a Teenage Slob at Home?

Does your teen have a hard time keeping their room (or anything else for that matter) decently clean and organized? If so, how do you cope? Do you constantly keep on top of them to get it clean or is it a battle you choose not to pick?

LOL, I insisted they keep their crap out of the common living areas, and then I closed the door to their room.

Both of my kids are cluttery, with piles of books and clothes everywhere, but the piles are organized and there's never anything really dirty. I'd love it if their stuff was actually in the drawers and closets, but I don't really think this is a battle worth fighting. From what I've heard, my kids are neat compared to their friends.

I do expect the beds to be made every day, I expect no clothes on the floor, and no plates or food left. They are pretty good, lately my 13 yo ds has been sloppy. Dd was the same way at the age.

I just closed the door too--it was enough to try to get DD to keep her stuff out of the living room.

Another door closer here too - but ds18 is the one who closes the door. No clue what his dorm was like last year, but my guess is it was neater than his room due to lack of space, and sharing with someone he didn't like! But no food in his room, so no issues of that nature.

I thought that the only teens who weren't slobs were the ones with OCD, LOL.

Put hand on door knob to room. Close door to room.

There are more important things to worry about than a made bed or clothes on the floor.

Hell, I *had* one with OCD, and she was STILL a slob!

My DD and my DS are both slobs.
