Ask The White House Your Questions About Bullying
Wed, 03-09-2011 - 2:24pm

Hi Everyone,

1 in 5 kids is bullied ever year - 1 in 5! - and kids who are bullied are five times more likely to be depressed. What more can schools, parents and government leaders do to protect our kids and keep them safe? The White House will answer YOUR questions during a LIVE Q & A with iVillage as part of a special White House Conference on Bullying Prevention. Write your questions below and look for the answers LIVE on this Thursday from 1:15p - 1:45p ET., during our Q & A with Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of Health & Human Services.

Also, iVillage has a quick survey going about dealing with bullies. If you've ever had to deal with bullying, we'd love to hear from you. The survey is really quick (only takes about two minutes to complete) and we would love to hear your thoughts on the topic.-a-327987?ice=iv:mb:msg:kp

Why is the White House involved in this issue? It needs to be solved individually and locally. My mother used to tell us to keep a brick in our purse and slap the heck out of anyone threatening us. It only takes one good whack to get the point across so teach your kid to fight back or tell a grown up. Also, they need to haul parents into court if their children are bullies and once word gets around you will go to court and pay fines then something will definitely start happening.
