Bday gifts for 16yo boyfriend...

What are some nifty, different ideas for dd to get her bf for his 16th bday? She was thinking of getting him a car, haha a remote control bmw....then there was a sentimental thing she was making him, her aunt is a photographer and is going to take some pictures of her and then we were given some tickets to our local baseball team's game. Any other ideas? They both have been really creative with their gifts and with everything going on in dd's life her brain is fried to the point she has no creativity lol! I don't know if the baseball tickets will work out because dd won't call his mom to find out when to do it (doesn't want it to conflict w/ his own baseball schedule or the Disney on Ice) and other than the cheap r/c car - nothing cost anything! I feel kinda cheap lol..... And sheesh with her schedule I don't even know when she will have time (away from bf) to go to her aunts to get pictures taken!

I think those are fine for a 16yo bf.

I tend to agree with Pam that maybe keeping the gift heart-felt but not necessarily costly is the way to go. DD got her b/f a t-shirt and a bottle of cologne that she loves for his bday, along with an assortment of home-made cookies that she made. For Valentienes day, she cooked him an out of this world wonderful dinner. DD loves to cook and bake, her b/f (like almost every teen boy I know) loves to eat - it works well for them.

What we do for each other and my MIL and such is take the person on an 'adventure' - up to the giver to decide if it's a surprise or not. Could be putt putt, go-karting, dinner, dessert, a special venue, etc. Just a special day out - and the surprise aspect can be a lot of fun.
