I asked H if he wanted to skip exchanging gifts this year because all he ever does is complain after Christmas about how much he spent, what a waste of money to buy things we don't need or want, etc. He completely surprised me by stopping what he was doing, stared at me for a bit, and finally said, "No, it's Christmas!"
