boys and shaving...silly little question

I feel a bit ridiculous asking for advice on this *blush* Still on a learning curve with my new son... having only raised daughters from birth I occasionally run into my own ineptitude with a 15 year old. He's going to have to start shaving soon - and he hasn't mentioned it. He's got lousy personal hygiene in general, so he probably WON'T really notice until I get him some shaving supplies. What are teen boys using? What kind of razor do I get him, and will he need any instruction on technique? I DID make the trip to the drugstore with my daughter for a "Venus" lady shave, some nice creamy shaving foam, and the basic advice on how to shave legs and armpits, but I'm guessing I'll have to modify this a bit for my son, LOL

My son saw it as a right of passage. It was a very big deal to him.

Glad to hear it.
I remember my own dad "instructing" me on how to shave when I was about 11. I had a lathered up face and a safety razor sans the blade and I would "copy" his movements.. lol.. Of course, there was nothing to shave but I felt grown up anyway.
I did the same thing with both my boys with a gillette without the cartridge. It was a very big deal to them as well..
