i don't know if this is 'my son' or if this is normal, but i noticed that his underarms were prickly so i asked him if he shaved them and he said ye,s that the hairs bothered him (not that i blame him, of course, when i still had hairs there i used to shave them too). i just didn't know that guys do this??

Coming from a teenagers point of view, unfortunately, it is normal. More and more I see guys shaving their legs, arms, and yes armpits around school. At one point, I thought it was contageous. One day one guy shaves his legs, the next another two are. He's just experimenting with doing new things, such as shaving odd parts of his body. Most of the people who started shaving eventually stopped, they just liked feeling all "silky and smooth." So don't sweat it.

Interesting - I wish they all would! Underarm hair is gross, in my opinion, and getting rid of it would probably make deodorant more effective as well. ;-) I've never heard of that, but I do know some "athletes" at the high school that shave their legs, for whatever reason. (Easier to tape injuries? Shows off the muscle profiles? *shrug*)
