hi, my sds are here for xmas break with one bra each and i need to buy them some but don't know where to go...any ideas? i would prefer to buy them proper training bras but they only want underwire, woman's bras. (yikes! haha) i tried mervyn's and some other 'trendy' shops but haven't found any in the AA range. i found a few at limited too but they were 20.00 each so i'm curious to hear other people's suggestions. thanks in advance!!

i hear alot of what you're saying. if they were my girls, i would make very different choices, but they were raised at an early age that 'sexy' was a good thing, despite the fact that they were/are children (3 inch heeled boots at 9 and 11 for example). i am doing what i can to show them a different way of looking at things (and thank god, the heeled boots only came over to our house once and the high heeled wedge sandals a few times) but i am very limited in my influences for obvious reasons. so far, they seem to leave it at home, as i mentioned, and i am dreading the day when/if things change!! i am definitely going to be a more strict (bio) parent when they day comes! i can see the eyes rolling now haha :)

hmmm.. I was told these were a really good deal.
A bit more expensive but VS is supposed to be guaranteed for life.
Perhaps not such a great deal after all. Have I been had? LOL
I'm learning all about bras today...

DD (15) has been wearing regular bras since 12. The "grown up" part is not so much a VS bra but dragging her dad into the buying experience. Similar to me pickup tampax for her at the store, she's trying to make a statement that says, "I'm mature and have outgrown being uncomfortable with my dad about this."
It's kind of cute..
OTOH.. DW knows WAY more than I about this and would probably limit spending... :-)

Walmart has a great selection of bras for young girls. My mom took me there for my first bra and even then they had a younger Hanes line. I remember that I liked the idea of having a bra like my mom's but they don't have padding or underwire. Walmart also carries MaryKate and Ashley line with bras in all kinds of cool designs. A younger cousin of mine(age 12)recently got her first bra even though she didn't need it. It's more about security and wanting to feeling pretty at the awkward age. She loves the MK and Ashley line. that would be my suggestion.
