While it seems in recent months that bullying in our nation’s schools has experienced a disquieting uptick, a new survey of high school students' attitudes and conduct shows that bullying has simply become part of their lives. Moreover, nearly half of those students admitted being involved in the aggressive torment themselves.

Do you talk to your kids about bullying?

History shows what? No it doesn't.. Where is your proof for that statement.
I grew up in the 50s and early 60s. Guess what? There was a great deal of unchecked bullying and violence.

We are more aware of the destructive impact bullying has on children. We talk about it now; it is not gloss over and hide as it was then.

I grew up in the 60's and 70's and this IS my experience and most people in my area, of my age group agree. Maybe it was our schools (where I was), that didn't tolerate bullying. We were disciplined at school and at home and the threat of "calling parent's" was enough to keep the majority in line. Caught bullying? OUT!

Lucky you, it sounds like you are fortunate enough to be able to raise DD (and your other kids?) in an area or with schools like where I was. I'm FAR from there now and obviously didn't think through the differences of affluance, neighborhoods, area cultures and such.

Have you read about the 2 sisters that ran down a rival high school cross country runner? THOSE 2 punks are the product of the same H.school
