These have got to be the sweetest words a mom can hear from a teen!! My DD starts school tomorrow, and had orientation yesterday, so today was a down/lazy day. She called me at 3:30 to ask if she could cook dinner tonight. I couldn't say "yes!" fast enough lol. I came home to a house that smells wonderful, and the knowledge that dinner is almost ready!

Somehow she's decided that she LOVES to bake, but NEEDS to learn how to cook. We'll see if she can maintain it during the school year when the work starts, but right now she's saying she'll cook dinner once a week!

yum!!

p.s. In case you were wondering - SLOPPY JOES!!!

I think I would faint if I ever heard those words.

What a wonderful treat for you today! I think I would fall over dead from shock if I ever heard those words from anyone around here.

I used to say I loved to bake too, but then I realized it is actually the EATING what I bake that I love - lol.

Bon appetite! And I hope your DD has a wonderful 1st day of school tomorrow!

I'm lucky too - ds14 loves to cook and often helps (has been since probably 7 or 8 years old). Yesterday I had to work til 8 so he made dinner for dh and himself. He can't wait til next semester when he will take 'creative cooking' - he told me he may have to cook more often. I told him to go for it!
