My favorite radio station was talking about this the other day: if you send out your Christmas cards in November, do you have too much time on your hands?

Well, you know...I'm fairly organized...but I don't put out my pumpkins until October and I don't mail holiday cards until December. My dad, however had a tradition...maybe cuz he had that long weekend off work, but he always put up the tree and mailed cards right after Thanksgiving. I do expect to be getting some early birds in the mail real soon.

I find that I receive fewer and fewer cards each year. I don't get many that early. I think people don't send them like they used to, which is a shame. It's nice to get some "real" mail and in many cases, it's the only contact I have w/ old friends all year. I love seeing photos of their kids, etc.

Hey Marie, I love the new siggy. Looks like there was a lot of fun being had!!!

I haven't sent cards out for several years, BUT this year I decided that I would and I made them on Shutterfly with pictures of us all. I sent them out yesterday and believe it or not I was on the phone with a friend a little while ago and she had hers already. Not even 24 hours later! What is happening with the USPS are they getting more efficient?

I am surprised that I don't have but 1 card so far. It was from the company that hosts our website. I was so disappointed to get it, because I was hoping it would be from a friend or family member. I have this tradition that whoever we get the first Christmas card from gets a home made gift. It's always fun to see who the first card is from. But the business doesn't count. That would be like sending it to a magazine company. So here I sit waiting for the first family or friend card.

Hope one comes soon.

Sorry, we refuse to put up Christmas decorations til at least December - I think the fact that dh did some today (Dec 1) was the earliest in memory - but we're supposed to get nasty weather so he just got a swag over the front door. I admit I started writing the letter that goes in with our cards, but that's because it usually takes us a couple of weeks to get it to where we like it. I did address cards today, but wouldn't send them out til at least next weekend.
