For all the ways that our teenagers and their "significant others" make us crazy at times, I just had to share this.
I got a call from T yesterday wanting to know what N's birthstone is and whether she prefers gold or silver, coz his mom told him it was important that he find out these things before buying her a necklace. Then he says "I probably shouldn't have told you that my mom is helping me, should I?" I couldn't help it, I laughed and said "T, I have 3 sons, all of whom are older than you... I've given 'mom input' to more g/f's gifts than I can even count! No loss of brownie points for you on this one." I did reassure him though, that I wouldn't tell N that his mom helped him pick her gift out. Sometimes I really miss those days when I was helping the boys pick out g/f's Christmas gifts!
Merry Christmas to all of you, and may 2007 be the year that there truly is peace on earth.

Rose, Merry Christmas to you and yours! At this time of the year, I am always reminded of the gifts we give, deserved and undeserved, in the name of love. If I want to look at what I've been through this year with my teens and give based on that, there might just be a lump of coal under the tree. But love is a pretty powerful thing.
I look forward to the new year - yes, peace please! I will also take the gifts of patience and tolerance. I hope for enough love to get me through the next year. May we all keep our sanity, for one more year! Yeah 2007!
