And has nothing to do with teens but my 'baby' is 21 today. How did that happen? It seems like only last year that he was a baby and only last month that I started lurking on this board. And in reality I started lurking here when Jason was 12 and he's going to be 24 in June! YIKES!

To those of you that are just at the beginning of these teen years - treasure every minute of the good times, keep communication open, and choose your battles. To those of you that are in the midst of the stage where your formerly sweet child seems to have turned into an alien overnight and doesn't want anything to do with you - try to remember that one day they'll be back. To those of you at the other end of the teen years - enjoy the young adults that they have become. They may not be perfect and they may not make all the choices you would have wanted them to make but remember you did the best you could and everything you did you did out of love.

Hopping over from the 10-14 board, since my "baby girl" just turned 16. Its a nice reminder, your entire post. We've just hit the mostly sweet girl has a small little alien recently emerge from her and we're working through it and its nice even though I know there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, sometimes in the middle of an emotional meltdown, to remember that in the grand scheme of things, it really doesn't last that long.

Rose, being scared when your pregnant is very appropriate--you know, you're worrying for two.

My oldest one turned 22 on March 5--I can't believe she's so old!

I don't think you're totally OT here Pam... when you're in the midst of the teen years, it seems like it's never going to get better, and you just gave hope that yes, it does get better.

When my kids started becoming self-sufficient young adults, I went through a phase where I was sure they didn't need me anymore.
