Constant Worrying

Hi, I'm new to the board and spend much of yesterday reading past posts. What a great space! I know I'll be here alot! It is nice to know I'm not alone. My dd is 15 soon to be 16 with a 17 yo bf. They have been dating almost 6 months. He is her first serious bf and is convinced he is the one and is totally in love. They are both great kids so I don't know why I am constantly worring. I seem to worry about everything. She is in my thoughts so much that sometimes I feel like I'm going crazy. Anyone else in the same boat and how do you deal? I've got a 10 yo dd as well and sometimes I feel like I can't focus on her because I'm always worried about the older one.

Hi and welcome to the board!
I am trying to "live my life in faith not fear." That's basically easier to say than do sometimes but I have been trying to be sure I exercise and pray. I know that sounds weird but the two are closely related for me and I feel much better when I turn some of the worries over to God.
With that said...any other advice anyone has, I would love to hear. And know you are not alone!

Oh yes, I've been there too. Younger DS had a horrible experience in 1st grade (now in 6th) and I spent many hours agonizing over him on a daily basis. Last year in 8th grade, DD had a just as bad, but different, experience with the girls in her little group that had me absolutely beside myself with anxiety.
If worrying expended calories and burned fat, I'd be just about invisible!
Hang in there!

I go through phases with my daughter (14). Most of the time I know she's fine, but something will happen and I'll start obsessing about her safety, etc. The only way I deal is to put checks in place - phone calls, etc. And a reality check - what could *actually* happen and how would she deal with it?
If the constant worry is getting in the way, maybe there's someone you can talk to (a friend or a counselor) who can help you keep things in perspective.
