I'm not even sure where to start, but I could use some feedback.

Many people have given you heart-felt, sincere advice.

Mona,

I thought about you many times today and wanted to clear up what I fear my rambling above may have indicated.

I read this in your postings.

I appreciate your kind words, and the time you took to think about us. My son is looking for a way to end our relationship and I refuse to give him that. I will always be his mother, and I will always love him. While there will be times I don't like him very much (and this is one of them) I would do anything to help him. He wants a sit down with me, which I have agreed to...and now all of a sudden there is no contact. The game playing has gotten old, but I will leave this matter in his lap to figure out what he wants to do next.

While I respect that statement, hind site is also 20/20. We are just piecing this all together, and when we thought the school of hard knocks was the best option, we didn't have even a 1/3 of the information we do now. He hid things very well, and at what point can you make an adult do something they absolutely don't want to do? His longtime friends have even commented to us how far down the rabbit hole he has fallen since the start of summer, and if those in his household can't see any issue with his behavior and do not support him getting help, then I'm certain he isn't going to get any unless it becomes a court ordered situation.

It's too bad that you decided to forgo speaking with me off the board. I'm the only mom here with a son who went to adult prison while still a teen.

But good luck to you and your son.

Thanks for the update. It's so hard to see our young adult 'kids' make mistakes that can impact their lives. I think there's an issue with the private message system here at Ivillage - at least I saw someone mention that in another thread. So you may not have gotten cat's message. She would definitely be able to give you some btdt advice/support/shoulder/etc. Please keep us posted.

Sorry if I sounded pis*y... it's not something I like to talk about much on the board. He's 22 now, so I don't post alot, anyway.

I can't send you a pm, and if you sent me one, I can't reply to it, either. Not sure what's happened with ivillage pm system lately. Here's an e-mail address you can write to me at, and then I'll write you back from my real e-mail address. Would that work for you?

I know where you're at now, I know how you feel. I actually started crying when I was writing you a note, cause I guess it's something that's going to take a really long time to get over.
