"D asked me out!"

lolol My DD who has been single, boyfriendless for 2years (HORRORS!) jumped into the car after religious school last night and started telling me about the class, the upcoming trip, etc. And then, as if it were casual, said "Oh, and D asked me out". This is the boy who she's been flirting with for months - for some reason my otherwise pretty independent DD wouldn't ask *him* out. So, last night, with encouragement from their mutual guy friend, he said "so...uh....I want to ask you....I mean....I want to ask you out" (is that too cute?). She is very happy.

The funny thing is they're about to go on a four day retreat - so these two kids who don't go to the same school, and only see each other once a week, will now have 3-4 days together (in large groups). They'll be well-supervised, but still.... LOLOL

Oh that is too funny. After the four days, L will either be completely 'in love' with D or will have decided he's not her type. I don't know how many times C has been crushing on some boy from afar, found herself in a class with him at the semester or new school year and upon getting to know him better, decided he was just not her type!

Poor D! It must have taken every ounce of courage he had to ask L out. I guess some things don't change much, do they? When C accepted M's invitation to winter formal, he said "oh thank you, thank you, thank you!" then literally RAN away. He didn't speak to her or look at her again for about two weeks after that, either. As you have said, I'm sooo happy the teen years are well behind me!

When's the big night?
