Oh my, she's beautiful - AND she bears a striking resemblance to my sister's daughter Amber.

The whole hiding out so guys don't ask you to slow dance thing is hilarious to me, and her dad actually.

Brings back memories of high school. I ended up working the "coat check" in Grade 11 because I went to the dance by myself. It was easier than sitting against the wall and watching everyone dance. Far from being ugly, I was rather pretty but, if you were not in a gang, forget it. In those days (and also now) kids go to dances in groups. And the "single kids" dance with other kids in their group. I would think it would be rather scary for a Grade 11 boy to ask a girl dressed like a model. He might think that "she is not in my league" which being a mom of a Grade 12 boy, I can attest to. Also, asking a girl to dance who is not a buddy is an admission of interest in teen culture. That is a scary thing for many grade 11 boys.
