After all the testy moments lately... I just had to laugh as the kids went to school today. For some reason, the steering wheel on DD's little Nissan wouldn't unlock to start. She normally drives herself, brother, sis, and bro's friend from across the street to school every day. It was getting too late and I told her I'd have grandpa look at it but that she should take the van. It is just soooo funny when she has to drive the van!! She gets so embarrassed. Away they went with her looking like a "soccer mom." That was SO NOT COOL with her. That thought will keep me entertained for awhile today.

See? Now when I had my Toyota Sienna, 6 cylinder I might add, my dd LOVED it! She said felt like she was driving a van that was 'pimped' out because it was black and all the windows were tinted, and it had a great stereo. I'd get back in it and the speakers would bumpbumping all over the place - I'd have to adjust the bass and rip out her CD!

We used to take out the middle seat sometimes and she said she felt like she was driving a limo!

When I traded it in for my Passat she actually was upset with me because I didn't keep it for her!

Yeah, I just don't know what it is about the van that is so hard for her to take. My son is in a band and the van comes in handy for trasporting all the band equipment. He can't drive yet, but one of his band mates drives it and loves it! He wrote a song about it... "Driving in Debbie's van." DD thinks that is only a little funny, but for some reason I just think it's hilarious. And DD's reaction to the whole van thing with her very serious look is even funnier! :)
