DD's jazz band is at a HS Jazz Festival this weekend. In the middle of this "last blast" snowstorm yesterday, she and her bandmates (and teacher, etc) were driving in a bus from NY to Boston. It took them almost 10 hours to go what should be at most 5 hour trip. DH and I were on edge all day/night until we heard from her that they were at the hotel. I was too nervous yesterday to even post about it.
Anyway - they have a busy day today of listening to and then performing music. I think they'll have a great time - and the drive back should be somewhat easier.
One nice thing about this trip - it's a time that DD is stretching beyond her core group of friends - a year ago she wouldn't have been too happy, but this year she's been better about doing things without a bff next to her. DH is happy because some in her core group have made some not-so-great decisions in the past - so it's good to see her defining herself outside of their sphere.
Today will be an odd day - only one kiddo is nice for a few hours, but I know none of us will be totally relaxed until Leah's back under our roof (which got DS7 talking yesterday about what we'll be like when she's away at college)

I'd have been a nervous wreck too, Sue! I'm glad L got to the festival safely and hope she enjoys herself. Doesn't sound like that will be too hard a thing to do, though.
I'll be wearing your shoes next weekend. DH is attending a week-long horsemanship clinic in Arizona, leaving Saturday and C will be participating in a 2-day Model UN conference (she's the UK this time!) in a community near her school campus for the weekend. W and I will be all alone!
Bet we'll be playing lots of tennis and watching lots of movies.
I hope L arrives home safe and sound today!
