PPT for you and your DD!! It's always a little nerve-wracking when someone you love is in the hospital. I hope the surgery goes smoothly and her recovery is easier than expected!

Best wishes tomorrow, Marie! W had his tonsils and adenoids out when he was 3. It's no fun at all, but with lots of TLC from mom, she'll get through it just fine.

Just have plenty of SMOOTH ice cream and jello and such (no lumps!) ready. I remember having that, broth, and many, many shakes. At first, the cooler stuff felt better than the warm.

(And my mom, bless her heart, had me hating bananas for 25+ years after my wisdom teeth came out (I could only fit a straw in my mouth) when she'd blend them into everything to get more minerals in me....)

shoot, Marie---I thought I had posted this already!

P&PT coming your dd's way (and yours!) Stock up on ice pops, popsicles, and ice cream! :) Hope she has a speedy recovery and isn't in too much pain afterwards.

Be sure and pop in when you get a chance and let us know how y'all are doing. :)

My DD had adenoids out at 11. I think they've made wonderful improvements in the anesthesia over the years. The recovery time was short without that prolonged wrung out feeling.
Best wishes for a smooth procedure and speedy recovery!

Good luck to you!!!! My dd 17 had her tonsils and adnoids out last week, June 19th, and quite frankly its been awful. She still will not eat. She is starving, cranky, and in alot of pain STILL. Everything hurts too much to eat and feels like it is getting stuck. Nothing tastes right to her so she will only drink water and eat applesauce. She is still taking Hydrocodone every 4 hrs. Doctor says its normal for her age group to take 2 weeks to really start feeling better. Right now..... she is mad at me....saying she'd rather have had strep every 3 weeks for the rest of her life than go thru what she is going thru...Hopefully the next few days will see some improvement. JUst be ready to MAKE her drink, drink, drink, even though it hurts so she doesn't get dehydrated. That's the main thing they told me. She can go without much food for awhile, but drinking enough is a must. Again....good luck to you.....

I'm so sorry that your dd (and you) are going through such a hard time! It's no fun at all when a family member is not feeling well! Here's hoping that she's on her way to a better week this week, and that she'll soon be eating again.
