DD thought the drama was over

As I'm reminiscing down middle school memory lane on a previous post, DD is very upset with one of her best friends. (She is a senior this year.)

Several friends went to a party last saturday where the birthday girl turned 18. Unsupervised... drinking... weed... you get the picture. The plans were also to rent a hotel room later and everyone sleep over. DD turned down the festivities

Sounds like you and your dw have raised a mature young lady with a good head on her shoulders.

Good for her that she stuck to her guns and left. I'm not sure Kelsie would leave, I'm almost positive that she wouldn't join in with the drinking and smoking, but I don't know that she would leave.

As for the middle school drama crap, I have had the same thing coming from Kelsie this summer. She told me she is sick of all the drama and back biting etc. She is also a senior this year and was hoping that now it would be done with and unfortunatly it is still going on. Hate to tell her that some people never get past it.

With the swimming season coming up, I don't think she wanted to take the chance. Yet if it weren't for that, I think

Actually it probably depends who she was with if Kelsie would leave or not and who was doing what. If she was with her bff she probably would leave, because I think bff would leave especially if she had the car with her.

I do have to say that I was proud of her when she went to the Sr. Prom in June with a friend. He wanted to drink and Kelsie told him, "Not if you're with me! We are going to post prom and if you want to drink after that fine, just take me home first." and that is exactly what happened, he brought her home and ended up drinking after that. I guess he really pushed the point and mentioned it several times, but she stood her ground and kept saying "not if I'm with you"

I'd like to think this sort of garbage is all over by high school, too.
