DD13 phone usage

DH is constantly harping on DD13 being on the phone so much. I do not have a problem with it, but he has a BIG problem with it. I can remember being her age and always having a phone glued to my ear (at home anyway, that was long before cell ph's). I have tried to explain to him that is what teenage girls do, they talk on the phone. He just doesn't want to hear that. It's driving me crazy!!

She's actually talking on her cell, unless the battery is dead, and then she will use the house phone. It's the fact that she is on the phone period, that he has the problem with.

GRRRR!! Yesterday DH restricted DD phone usage. He told her 2 hours on school days and 4 on the weekends. I do not agree with this at all, and he knows it!!!!! He told her he will be watching her usage and if she goes over he will take her phone away. Although, he told her she could text all she wants. I am actually playing with the idea of telling her to use the house phone when he isn't home. He is only monitoring her cell (for right now anyway).I just don't want to give her the message that it's OK to go behind Dad's back and do things. I am so frustrated.

She does have unlimited texting. But, it doesn't make sense to me either. My view is that if she is at home on the phone at least we know where she is and who she's talking to. My DD knows that I do not agree with her Dad on this. I have encouraged her to text the friends that can text and save her actual talk time for the ones that can't. Her b/f doesn't have texting, so she has to talk to him.

I know that most of the ones on here on the phone seems to be girls - but my son who is 14 1/2 honestly when the cell phone bill came in he had over 10,000 txt messages - about 5,000 from him and about that amount to him -- that blows my mind....but he probably didn't have 200-300 minutes of talking all month.
