dd15 to enter rehab program

Hi everyone. I've posted several discussions over the past year about DD15 who has been binge drinking and spinning out of control for the past year. We started seeing a psychiatrist and counselor... w/o much success yet. DD doesn't like the counselor... I question the competence of the psychiatrist... he seems all too willing to start meds w/o evaluating DD very well.... I don't know... it's just a gut feeling.
Anyway, DD was grounded for 2 weeks after we found a small bag of pot in her room. The very 1st night of her freedom she went out with girlfriends. I reminded her... repeatedly... that we would test her breath when she came home. There was no need for that, because her friend called at 11:00 PM to let us know that DD had passed out from alcohol consumption in a boy's front yard. DH had to go get her... a night from Hell!!.... DD was then grounded for a month. A few days into the grounding, we caught her stashing beer under her sink that she planned to consume at her brother's HS grad party.
We took her for an evaluation today to be admitted to a chemical dependency Partial Hospital program (PHP). She would attend from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily.... usually for a few weeks. She showed her "true colors" to the evaluator... by throwing a major tantrum when unpleasant situations were addressed. The doctor did recommend that she enroll in the program and she once again threw a hissy fit saying that she would attend the program and not participate... insisting that she didn't have any "real" issues... that me and DH were the root of the problem..... blah blah blah.
The evaluator was Wonderful. The estimated 1 hour evaluation stretched into 3 hours and the counselor really talked to DD and finally convinced her that alcohol has become a big issue in her life. DD finally agreed that the program might benefit her. Please.... say a little prayer for us if you believe in prayer. I'm so worn out and so worried. I'm so hopeful that this could make a difference for DD.
I guess I have no real questions... just a tremendous need to unload. Thanks for listening!!

A big hug to you and your family. Props to you and your DH for sticking to the plan and getting help for your DD----too many families ignore problems thinking it is 'normal' or will go away with time. You've SUCCESSFULLY done an awesome job in assisting your DD to the road to recovery and good health.
My thoughts will be with you. I'm in awe of your strength...I'm afraid I'd be in denial.
I wish you the best and wish the best for your dd........
Sounds like you found a match in this program!
Good for you for persevering until you made it happen.
Keep us posted
Sounds like this program will be good for your daughter. I think you have taken all the necessary steps to help her. Now, a lot will be up to her.
This must be a difficult time for you...remember to take care of yourself too! I will keep you in my prayers.
You are in my prayers.
Kristie
Sending prayers that your dd does the work she needs to do and that all will work out well!
