DD16's dinner party
| Thu, 01-03-2008 - 9:12pm |
On Sunday night, my DD hosted a dinner party for 4 friends (well, actually five were invited but one didn't show up, and said it was because she got in a fight with her parents, but didn't bother to call or text or im to say she couldn't come).
Anyway, Leah put a lot of thought into what the course of the dinner would be, laid out a beautiful table, had "favors" for each guest.....a ton of work! Although she's a great baker, she isn't really a "cook", so this was a big undertaking!
DH, DS, and I were *not* invited LOL. We went out to dinner and then came home later. Luckily there were leftovers, so we still got the benefit of the cooking!

Wow, that is an awesome menu! And she's only 16, that's great!
2 of my kids like to cook, but then I have to remind them to clean up. And then I have to remind them again. Ad then when they're all done, I have to go thru and wipe everything down, my way.
Does your DD ever cook for the family?
Oh, I helped with cleanup, make no mistake about that! lol
So far she's done very little cooking for us, but after tasting her chicken parm, I may put in an order!

Same here, I cook because I have to, and our DSs are also fussy eaters. When I read that Leah made a smoked salmon appetizer, I was shocked. I don't think DS24 began eating fish until last year after his gf got him hooked on sushi, and DS18 still will not touch it. When it's just DH and I, we eat fish twice a week. And if I were living alone, I'd never tire of tuna salad as my main entree.
We've been keeping Trader Joe's in business, buying up all their frozen appetizers and tons of nuts.
