DD's car was vandalized

I woke up this a.m. and was going outside and the first thing I saw was that someone had painted things on the windows of my DD's car, like "I hate blacks." and other obscene messages that I can't even repeat. Luckily, the paint came off w/ glass wipes. My friend/dentist was driving down the street on his way to his office and helped me get it off. Meanwhile, my DD was getting ready to go to work. She found out that the same thing happened to one of her friends, who doesn't even live near us, so obviously, it was someone who knows them and thinks that this is funny (good friend!). I was up last night until midnight and I didn't hear anything, so it must have been later than that when they came by. Of course, my bedroom is in the back of the house so if it was after that, I wouldn't have heard.

I'm sorry this happened to you and your dd. Did you contact the police? Are you or your dd concerned about your safety? I can't understand why some people have to be so disrespectful.

I didn't call the police because I don't think they will put much time into investigating this incident, however my DD thinks she knows who did it. The way kids talk, I'm sure it will somehow come out in school. Anyway, no permanent damage was done, but it was pretty shocking. I never used to even lock my car in front of the house, but I have been locking it for the past year or so since some CDs were stolen from my car.
