DD's friend came to Temple last night

I have to share this with you all, because you've *heard* me complaining before about DD's bff "I" who is a little bit of a 'wild child', not the greatest influence at times.
Anyway, once a month I coordinate a Shabbat Dinner at our Temple (followed by a Family Service). It's a great community-bonding night for all of us, but not too many kids my DDs age. This week she invited her bff to come and she did. I got such a kick out of seeing this non-Jewish girl willing to share something that is meaningful to my DD, just because it meant something to DD. And, in the past she's sorta been the teen who doesn't talk to adults too much, but last night she talked to my friends, talked to the Rabbi and President of the Congregation, and was talking to another friend of my DD's as if they'd known each other forever. And, she was more respectful in the service than some of the kids who come all the time.
This gave me some insight into why my DD loves this bff so much, and why she says "I know she's trouble some times, but she's always there when I need her"!

Glad you shared this! It is nice when it is recognized that a person may have that "good" side, especially when we have seen the other side of that person
